Olivia's Perspective of Bath
For two days we stayed in Bath. We actually really needed it because there was loads to see. On the first day, we got there around noon so we took a tour to see the main kind of parts in Bath. The second day was much more exciting!! In the morning we went to the Roman Baths which are these baths that the ancient Romans found. It was actually water that came out of the ground hot!! They used it as a holy place and to get clean. Some of the baths are still filled with hot water today. After that we went for brunch at Sally Lunn's Bun Shop. They have these humongous buns that we ate with tea, and you get whatever flavor of butter or clotted cream you want on top! Then we went to the Fashion Museum which had clothes from the nineteenth century to now. It was actually very well done, you can get an audio-guide tour to learn about why or how they dressed that way. It also had an area where you could try on a corset and an under-the-dress-hoop skirt!! We also saw dresses from Princess Diana. Then we went on this tour of Bath Abbey which is their big church. The tour is all of the parts of the abbey that aren't on the ground floor, so you have to climb 212 steps to get to the top. They also bring you to all of the good parts such as, the clock tower when you go behind the clock, and inside the ceiling and you can see a little part of the floor from there! At the end of the day, we went to the Aqua Glass Theater. It's a glass blowing theater where you can watch them make the glass pieces from scratch. Then you could get a ticket for afterwards to blow a glass bubble yourself! (but it pops, so you cant keep it, but they might give you a piece. Then you get a certificate to say you blew glass!) So our trip was even cooler than I hoped it would be. (:
